Amelia
is a greyhound. She has a long and sad "tail" with a happy
ending. She was saved from a race track in Daytona , Florida. She was no
longer a "profit" for the kennel, thus was headed for certain
death. That is, until the kind people from Michigan Greyhound Connection help place
her with me. I filled out an application and held my breath till the day
came when I got the call telling me she was on her way. I must be
honest when they told me she was a red brindle I was a little
disappointed. (It was my least favorite color), but the important thing was
I was helping to save a life. Well the day came when I went to pick her
up. There she stood in the pen and all I could do was to start crying,
she was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen! And wow, what a
personality! So calm, so quiet, so silly! Well needless to say we hit it
off instantly and I must say it was the best thing I have ever done! She
has saved me more than I have saved her. I could go on forever telling
some of her infamous story but the tears in my eyes are getting to be a
bit much. She in more than a best friend and is worthy of the title of
"Dog of the Day" heck she already has the title of "Pet of my Life!"
