Skipper
is a very special dog. We got her from the Sterling Animal
Shelter. She was a "Sato" which means her parents were street dogs in
Puerto Rico. The shelter rescued her and we took her home with us. But
that is not all. Just a week after we got Skipper, she became very,
very sick. We were all afraid that Skipper would have to be put to
sleep. She was in the vet for many weeks before we could finally take
her back home. When we did, she was all skin and bones. It was very
sad, but thanks to a lot of care Skipper is now a happy and healthy dog.
We just got a fence put around our yard, so for the first time Skipper
can run around wherever she wants as fast as she wants. Skipper loves
playing ball and snuggling. We love Skipper a lot. I am very happy that
I have Skipper and that she is healthy. I have wanted a dog for my
whole life but my mom and dad always said no until we got Skipper. She
is a great dog. Isn't she cute?
