We
knew we were getting a girl with a mind of her own when we met Nabby
at the breeder's. As we were leaving (we were going to take her home at
a later date), I wanted to get one last picture of her. She had her back
to us, and we kept calling her name for her to turn around. Finally,
after much pleading, she swiveled her head around, keeping her back to
me, and shot me a look as if to say, "Happy now?" and turned right back
around! (That's the small picture.)
Nabby has been the joy of our lives. She's got an arsenal of cool
tricks: being a dead bug, shake, wave, roll over, stand up. She'll stop
at nothing for a treat, and sometimes she'll run through her whole
repertoire without being asked if she knows there's something in it for
her.
When she gets in trouble, she knows exactly what to do to diffuse the
anger: roll over, wiggle her little legs in the air and smile. I
challenge anyone to stay mad when faced with that.
She follows us everywhere, and never misses a chance to shower us with
kisses or make us laugh. She's also the best canine communicator I have
ever met...we always know when she's hungry, thinks someone is outside,
wants a walk or wants to play. She's friendly to everyone she meets,
including other dogs and cats. Everyone who meets her falls in love at
first sight!
