Ginger
loves Halloween. When the door bell rings and the children yell
trick or treat, she goes crazy wagging her tail, panting hard, and
barking. When I open the door to give them candy, she runs frantically
all over the front yard, greets all with a kiss who will let her and
runs back in to wait for the next bunch. She was so patient for these
pictures. She wore that little pumpkin hat and posed for nearly two
hours until I got the pictures I wanted. As best we can tell, Ginger is
half beagle and half something else. She's built like a beagle, has
colors like a beagle, has ears and eyes like a beagle, barks like
beagle, and eats like a beagle (will eat everyone else's food when they
are not looking). However, she has long, wiry hair. The vet thinks the
other half might be poodle. She has a little sister named Zoe, a Yorkie
mix, who came to live with us only six months ago. At first Ginger didn't
even like it when Zoe touched her, because at weeks, she was still
trying to nurse even though Ginger was not her mommy. Now they sleep
together and play together non-stop, although occasionally I get this
look that says, "Honestly, Mom, what were you thinking when you brought her here?"
