Iris,
is a female, small German Shepherd Dog (GSD), known by the AKC as
"Iris Von Der Felzen Haus, CDX NAP CGC." I love her to death! I do her
in AKC obedience and agility competitions, and in 4-H obedience
competitions. I also plan on getting the BH schutzhund title on her.
Although sometimes she's not your usual eager-to-please GSD, she makes a
rather good couch potato. She loves agility, until she finds an escape
route to Daddy. She's a little natural at tracking. But, she's my first
dog, and we've both made lots of mistakes, and I've learned a lot from her.
She definitely prefers agility over obedience ;-) One thing that I
really like about Iris is, whenever you're feeling down or are sick,
she's always there to try and make you feel better. She can, at times,
be real snugly. However if you're going outside to throw a stick,
she'll be there in a second! Although she wouldn't do good in the show
ring, she's a great dog in the performance ring. And although she may
not be friendly with everyone, she's my best pal.
Several years ago Iris got hit by a car and had surgery for Femoral
Head Osteoectomy. She had a wonderful surgery and when she is outside
doing her favorite thing, fetching sticks, you can barely tell the
she's really only uses three out of her four legs. She might not be your
greatest working dog, but she's probably the best couch potato out
there!!! She's also great at being my #1 buddy! Find out more about
Iris at her website.
