About Us
Zeppelin, the Dog of the Day
Name: Zeppelin
Age: Three years old
Gender: Female Breed: Dalmatian
Home: York, Pennsylvania, USA

This little cutie is Zeppelin Chance, she turned three years old in January. She is a purebred Dalmatian, and one of my best friends. This was her first day at the pool, she nested onto the grill cover just before her nap. Her middle name is actually a namesake for my dearly departed cat Chance. She is special in many ways.

To many breeders' dismay, we adopted her knowing full well that she was a deaf dog. However, to me, there is just no difference. She understands the sign language we've learned together, Sit, stay, paw etc. all the basics, we've even mastered no after many puppy mishaps. Nowadays she is just a big lazy lover. The ironic thing about her being my cat's namesake is she tends to rub against my legs in the morning or when she's first seen me.

Zeppelin's favorite game I would have to say is to snuggle or "spoon" with me or just about anyone who comes in the door. But before she walks up to anyone she must first go to her toy bin and grab a toy first. Very rarely will she walk up to someone new without getting a toy first, almost like a security blanket for kids.

I've never seen another dog do that, but it's very important to her to have that toy before she'll approach a visitor. Usually she'll keep it in her mouth as long as their touching her, or until Jada, my other Dalmatian snatches it right out of her mouth. Lastly, she was a birthday gift from my longtime boyfriend, he and his Grandma and mother went to pick her one day while he was running "errands." He got home and asked me to come look at something in the back yard, so I walked around the side of the house and there she was, you know love at first sight.

One last thought, in the three years I've had her, I've never heard her growl... not one time. Not one mean bone in her loooong body.
