About Us
Emma, the Dog of the Day
Name: Emma
Age: Three years old
Gender: Female Breed: Parson Jack Russell Terrier
Home: Raleigh, North Carolina, USA

Emma is a solid white wire-haired Parson Jack Russell Terrier who lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with her parents and cockerpoo brother. She is our special little girl who was rescued from the SPCA of Wake County. Instead of us picking her, she choose us!! As my husband and I were walking through the kennel, we noticed a slightly emaciated little white dog sitting in the corner. As all of the other visitors walked by, she simply sat and stared. But as soon as we neared her kennel, she started jumping with joy, saying, "Pick me! Pick me!"

When we first brought her home, she was extremely skittish and would cower when anyone bent down to pet her. Slowly but surely, the spirited Jack Russell in her revealed itself. The next thing we knew, she was a happy, energetic little dog who has become an integral part of family. Emma has a huge heart, and she loves other dogs. She has many small dog friends, including a miniature dachshund who she likes to pet (as you see in the picture). Emma also loves the Raleigh dog park, where she meets new friends and chases her cockerpoo brother for hours. Even after a long day of playing, she is never too tired to climb up in our laps and bathe us in kisses! Emma is a very healthy, loving dog who never stops smiling.
