Summer
is a well-behaved family dog. When I got
her, all the puppies there were a month and a half old and playing in
the dirt on the other side of a fence. They were all so cute. I couldn't
decide which one to pick! Finally the owner called all the puppies over
to where I was. They all came over, sniffed me and chewed on my
shoelaces. But one stood out from the rest. It tried to jump on me and
looked up with her big puppy eyes. It wanted to go home with me so bad!
That's when I knew that this was the one I wanted. The owner washed off
her muddy paws and sent her home with me...
A few days after that, she started getting used to us and her real
personality started coming out. She is a very loyal and affectionate
dog. She loves to play, watch TV, walk me around the neighborhood, stick
her head out of the car window, run around in our back yard, open
presents, play with other dogs, get her belly rubbed, and at night she
sleeps by my bed in a "Butterfly Chair." Summer can also do these
tricks: sit, stay, come, fetch, lie down, stand, shake hands/paws, and
give a high-five! Sometimes she likes to play fetch and rough house with
me. It's really fun! One minute she'll be playing with you and the next
she'll just lay down, out of breath and wanting her belly rubbed. lol
In April this year, Summer and I celebrated our birthdays together. She
turned five and I turned into a teenager! Little did I know that she loved
ice cream we served. She is my best friend and follows me everywhere, no
matter where I go. When I go somewhere out of the house, she tries to
get in the car with me or when my family and I go out sometimes, she
will wait by the front window and wait on our return! As soon as she
hears the garage door go up, she runs down the stairs as fast as she can
go to greet us. She is so happy that we are back finally back
home. Aren't we lucky to have furry friends to enrich our lives?
