Kobi, the Dog of the Day
Name: Kobi
Age: One and a half years old
Gender: Male Breed: German Shorthaired Pointer
Home: Minnesota, USA

Hi! My name is Kobi. My hobbies include watching for and chasing squirrels, playing with sticks, ripping open stuffed animals (especially ones with noisemakers!), and bounding through tall grass. My humans say I look like a little deer when they take me to an open area to run. I have to admit, I'm pretty fast!

My favorite place to go is the dog park, although I'm a little shy at first when meeting other dogs. Right now I'm going to dog class, mainly because my mom and dad want me to get used to being around other dogs and people. When I first started class, I hid behind my mommy's legs every time the teacher or another stranger got too close, but now I've heard people say I'm starting to "come out of my shell", whatever that means. The other students and their parents laugh when we practice "lay down", because I will only lay down on carpet. Mommy has to bring a rug to class, because if she tells me to "lay down" on the cold hard floor, I just cock my head and pretend I don't know what she's saying. Other than that, I'm pretty well-behaved, although I've been known to attack vertical blinds when nobody's watching...

My favorite TV show is "Dogs with Jobs." I like to bark at the dogs on TV. Some of them can do pretty cool things, like lead blind people around and save people buried in the snow! As for me, my job is watching over my mom and dad. My mom especially needs somebody to watch her, so I follow her every time she leaves the room and watch everything she does, especially when she's cooking! There's always a chance she'll drop something.

My parents say that I make them very happy, and I'm so happy they adopted me. When they first got me, they said I couldn't sleep in bed with them, but now guess where I sleep every night? Ha…have I got them trained.
