This
is Dreyfus, who ran out in front of our car at midnight on my
birthday six years ago. Talk about destiny! He was an emaciated pup who
had obviously been on the streets for awhile. He was frightened and
weak, and his coat was terribly matted. But just look at him now!! The
vet said he probably wouldn't make it, but thanks to a lot of TLC, he's
grown from a 35-pound people-shy stray to an 80-pound out-going beauty.
Like most chows, he's a little overly protective of his owners
sometimes, but he's generally quite friendly, and he's one of the
happiest dogs you'd ever want to meet. He has a very good memory and
learns tricks fast. He's surprisingly gentle and very affectionate. He
loves to play "tag" with our miniature American Eskimo and take really
long walks. His favourite thing in the world is chicken.
