About Us
Cheyenne, the Dog of the Day
Name: Cheyenne
Age: Three years old
Gender: Female Breed: Shetland Sheepdog
Home: Houston, Texas, USA

Meet Allusion Cheyenne Princess, OA, OAJ, also known as Cheyenne. Cheyenne is on the small side for Shelties measuring 11 3/4 at the withers and only weighs ten pounds. Since Cheyenne competes in agility this lets her only have to jump at 12 inches. Cheyenne enjoys agility and runs very fast through the obstacle course. The letters after her name are some of the agility titles she has earned.

Cheyenne was in the top ten of the International Jumpers Course at the Houston Reliant Park World Series of Dog Shows this past year. Cheyenne also does well in obedience and is a certified Pet Therapy dog which allows her to make regular visits to Hospitals and Nursing Homes. While on her visits she loves giving kisses and performing tricks for the residents. Cheyenne recently appeared on TV, a PBS segment about the benefits of Pet Therapy in Nursing homes.

Cheyenne also allows her mom to take in countless Shelties and Collies while we foster them through Houston Sheltie Sanctuary and Houston Collie Rescue Programs. We help place these dogs in new homes where they might otherwise have been put to sleep. Cheyenne is an alpha female but as long as the fosters remember who is boss of the house then things usually run very smoothly. Cheyenne has been a blessing to us as she continues to impress us with her talent, willingness to please, unconditional love and companionship.
