Panther Cleopatra, the Dog of the Day
Name: Panther Cleopatra
Age: Eight and a half years old
Gender: Female Breed: Labrador Retriever
Home: Lake Ridge, Virginia, USA

Panther is a patriotic dog who has been a News Team Broadcaster on the Springwoods Elementary School, News Channel 3, for the last seven years. She dresses in a costume, like in the attached picture, and speaks to the students about educational values as well as promoting school programs and special events. Our News Team program is broadcast school-wide each week. She is the mascot of our school. Just last Saturday, she sat and posed in pictures with 147 students during our Spring Festival. In every picture, she smiled for the camera and was completely gentle with every student. (She gave a lot of kisses that day!)

She is an intelligent, gentle, and well trained dog. She is also the heart of our family. She is sensitive to our needs and provides tender loving care when we are sick as well as a ready ear to listen when we have problems. When someone is sick or sad, she doesn't leave their side! When we walk in the door each day, she bows to us and says, "Helrroowww!" She also says, "rrrriiicccee" very clearly when she has an upset stomach and is getting rice for dinner. As you can see, Panther is a special dog indeed! Everybody loves her! She has helped many people overcome their fear of dogs!
