My
name is Luke, I am a purebred Bluetick Coonhound. I currently
live in my forever home with my family in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada. My
parents found me while I was in an Animal Foster Home. I had been there
for two weeks before being rescued. I am very happy at my new home and
love my family as I am a very loyal boy and love my walks and my
back yard in which I guard very well.
Luke.
Luke is a very affectionate boy ... he absolutely loves to give hugs.
Sometimes while sitting for you he will also offer his paw and sits so
proud. Luke doesn't seem to mind our two cats either... he more or less
tries to play with the younger one, however the cat does not find this
amusing and will run away. Luke is the piece that has filled our family
puzzle, we were looking for a dog for over a year when we came across
Luke and went straight over and brought him home within the hour. He
has adjusted beautifully to his new home and loves children. We have a
three-month-old baby boy about which Luke is always concerned and wants
to smell and lick, even if Luke has just gone no further than the
back yard. As for our 6-year-old... he just follows her and wants to be
where she is at all times.
Luke loves to play with his ropes ... unfortunately he'll tear up a
stuffed toy within minutes, so the rope seems his best bet. He doesn't
care for balls. Luke also suffers from Separation Anxiety in which he
can't stand to be left alone due to his previous owner leaving him for
Excessive amounts of time outside even in winter. He is getting much
better though with trusting that we are always coming home to him and he
doesn't always mess anymore when we are gone, so we are making good
progress even though this disease will never completely go away.
Luke is not an independent dog, as he always needs someone around or
like I mentioned he'll get very nervous and upset. I stay home all day
long and whatever room I may go to along comes Luke following behind and
lies down on his bed. All in all we love him so very much and are truly
blessed to have such a Wonderful, Handsome boy!
