Noli's
story begins in the town of Huntsville, Alabama, where a generous
couple gave shelter to a female black lab wandering their neighborhood
on a cold and wet January night. After several attempts to find her
home, and learning that she was carrying puppies, they decided to take
her in despite having several dogs of their own. On February 3rd, 2002,
eight pups were born to the newly named Bella. Always a guessing game,
dad looks to have been a shepherd or Rottweiler. The new foster parents
placed an add on Petfinder,
and at eight weeks old the eighth puppy born moved to Birmingham and
took on the name Magnolia, better known as Noli.
Over the last thirteen months Noli has become the ideal pet: she
lovingly greets friends and family, keeps a watchful eye on strangers,
and gets along great with our cats, Kitty and Spike, as well as other
dogs. Noli is our first dog, and she is certainly the standard against
which we will compare all others.
