Pudge, the Dog of the Day
Name: Pudge
Age: Ten months old
Gender: Male Breed: Cocker Spaniel
Home: Cheboygan, Michigan, USA

This is Pudge - he is a fine dog and will grow to be a great companion. He poses well for photos (With A Treat Promised) but terrorizes the plants and garden when he is outdoors by tearing and running and laying down on the flowers, hope he outgrows it soon, It is his only fault. He was just ten weeks old in this picture.

Pudge is now ten months old and loves to play being outside playing catch. He romps through the snowbanks in winter and you can hardly say the words "go" or "outside" and he is ready at the door. We think he even knows how to talk and may be learning how to spell! He likes to ride and going to see the vet, unlike most kids. He is a very affectionate dog but also maintains an independent personality, our work schedules in our home vary and he has grown accustomed to enjoying whomever is at home. He loves sleeping in and after his morning trip outside the only place you'll find him is at the foot of the bed. He shares his house with two ragdoll cats and cannot figure out why they don't like to play with him. The cats have been a part of the house long enough that from the time Pudge was little and sitting on your lap that we keep wondering why he doesn't purr.

He does get excitable, as Cocker Spaniels tend to, but has been taught when someone is at the door, he lets out a bark or two and then jumps up on a stool to wait and see who it is. He is very intelligent and learns quickly. Now he is learning to ring a bell at the door when he wants to go outside. There is nothing more pleasing than to see him wanting to go everyplace we do, sitting there with his little docked tail just wagging away in anxiousness to go for an adventure. He is a wonderful dog who really has taken over the house and is a most important addition to the family.
