About Us
Mina, the Dog of the Day
Name: Mina
Age: Nine months old
Gender: Female Breed: Chinese Crested
Home: Athens, Georgia, USA

Mina is such an amazing girl. She is so full of energy all the time, and is so entertaining to have around. She is my fiance's and my first puppy to ever raise, and we are incredibly proud of her. She insists on starting the day bright and early (sometimes as early as four in the morning!), by grabbing a squeaky toy and wagging her entire body and giving us kisses until someone wakes up to take her outside. Usually she will go back to sleep for a few more hours after that, but not always!

She's so special because she's always very, very happy like that, and when she's happy, she wags her entire body, not just the tail. She gets extremely happy when we get home, and she always has to grab a toy and make funny noises around the toy (she tries to bark, but it sounds so funny when her mouth is full)! She especially loves meeting new people. My fiance and I are going to be moving to New York next year for school, and we keep joking (only partly kidding) that Mina will love it more than we will because she'll have so many new people to meet all the time! She usually gets so excited when meeting new people (especially large groups of people), that she loses control!

She's so funny and such a joy, even her "negative" characteristics are endearing - like the fact that whenever she hears a noise that she didn't see where it came from, she screams and then "huffs" for minutes, never even going to investigate where the sound came from!

Mina is incredibly intelligent. She won the hearts of everyone in puppy preschool, and knows many words, like outside, upstairs, downstairs, bedtime, among others, and she knows when we say "bye bye" that she needs to get into her crate. She also knows many tricks, "bang" being everyone's favorite (point your finger at her like a gun and say bang, and she will hop around in a few circles before flopping over onto her back with her feet up in the air). Mina is such a joy and so much fun to have around. She's even inspired me to learn how to sew (I made the clothes in her picture) - she is naked and needs clothes - that Georgia sun is strong you know! We look forward to many many more years with her as a part of our family!
