This
is my daughter's dog, Leia. We got her from the county animal
shelter. She's named after Princess Leia of Star Wars. My daughter said
the dog had to have a pretty name because she was a little bedraggled
and skinny and fur had rubbed off her nose from trying to get a few pats
through the bars, from people visiting the shelter. I wanted to name
her Scruffy.
Leia turned out to be the most loving, wonderful, quiet,
friendly dog I have ever known. She filled out to about 70 pounds and
fluffy with brindle colors, she gets attention every time we have her
out. Someone always asks "what kind of dog is she?" She has a lot of
the traits and looks of Irish Wolf Hound (except her ears are fuller),
with a little terrier, and who knows what else in her. She lives to
chase tennis balls and go for walks looking for squirrels. She "guards"
our cat all day long. She has a real herding instinct. Adopting her
was the best thing we ever did.
