This
is our youngest, Maddy Bleu. She has ruled our house since day
one, including bossing around her big sister Lexus, a Doberman. At the
time we thought our "only child" needed a sister to play with, but what
she got was trouble on four legs. Don't let her cuteness fool you, we
call her the Blue Devil. She may look like sugar and spice, but behind
that sweet face is a big trouble-maker. Like most Weims she is too smart
for her own good. While at work, we leave the dogs in the garage, where
they have places to rest and plenty to do. Well, one day, she opened the
lever-handled door that leads to the house and set off our security
alarm! The police officer that responded to the call was not amused with
Maddy. She also knows how to open her kennel door.
She always has to be first at everything, first to eat, first in the
door, first to get attention. It doesn't matter if you are dog or
human, if you get in her way, she'll throw her weight into you and
barge her way through. She has a hard time sharing "Mom's" affection
with her sister. If Lexus is getting any attention, Maddy gets very
jealous and positions herself between me and Lexus as if to say 'you're
gonna have to get through me first!'. Some of her favorite things are
food, tennis shoes, hunting the rabbits that inhabit "her" yard which
never let her catch them, going to doggy-daycare and did I mention food?
After a hard day of play, she loves to curl up next to me on the couch
and burrow under the blankets. She's got a pretty loud snore on her and
she runs in her sleep. I guess those rabbits can't outrun her... at
least in her dreams!
