Miss
Savannah-dana is a kooky, sweet, affectionate, funny dog. I
adopted her after four months of walking her at my local
Animal Shelter.
If ever you want to do some rewarding volunteer work with cats/dogs,
head over to your local shelter!! I'd guarantee you'd meet great folks
there.
I have two wonderful labs now (who I hope get posted here also!!) and
never expected to adopt a third. But ya never know what's going to
happen in your life!!! She came into the shelter as a stray. A nice man
brought her in after spending three days trying to get her to trust him to
rescue her. He and his family wanted to keep her but she was young,
out-of-control and too much to handle. He sadly dropped her off at the
shelter one Wednesday night that I was there volunteering. I'll never
forget that night, the man was outwardly emotionally upset to leave her.
Savannah was timid for a long time, jumpy, nippy and not placed for
adoption while all the volunteers (dog walkers) at the shelter trained
her. She was taught basic commands, not to jump up and enjoyed
socializing with some of the other dogs at the shelter. Thanks to the
patient and caring volunteers, she came a long way! Before she was
put up for adoption, I couldn't resist...and snatched her up. She now
hikes with my husband, labs and I. One day when we were at the Pisgah
National Forest..., she needed stitches on her leg from being a little
crazy hiking a few days prior and cut herself on something. It never
put a damper on her spirit, high energy and happy personality. Savannah
is more work than our labs, but worth it. She makes me laugh daily,
and is attached to me like velcro!
Savannah has become a wonderful addition to the pack!
