This
is my mountain dog Shenoa. She grew up in the wilderness in
Northern Arizona and usually behaves like a wild beast when we return to
her native lands. She springs through the forest in search of small
critters to chase and tries to instigate her favorite game, Kick the
Pine Cone, at every chance. It can't be any old pine cone though, she
chooses special pine cones and stops in front of them furiously wagging
her tail and staring at it intently. That's our cue that she has marked
her prey and we kick it down the trail.
She's a smart creature, although quite territorial especially in her
neighborhood. Especially with our kitten who she is secretly her best
friend, although she would never admit to it. They try to win our
attention by sparring on the living room floor until one of them gets
jabbed and runs away. Who needs TV when we have these two clowns.
I've had Shenoa since she was a puppy and she's been with me through
much turmoil and travel. She's an incredible dog and I can't imagine
being without her!
