I
wanted to tell the world about what a special dog Booboo was but my
heart is still filled with grief of losing him. We lost him last March
to a brain tumor. We did everything we could to combat the disease but
it was too far along when it was diagnosed. Unfortunately we had no
warning and he never showed any signs of pain.
Booboo was not a dog but a hairy little boy. He was mischievous, tough,
smart and most of all he loved us like no person could love anyone and
we loved him more than live itself. He was our whole life and we were
his. His passion in life was fishing. He would watch the fishing pole
intently and would know exactly when the fish was on the line. If we
were on shore he would go into the water and pull the line to catch the
fish. He would even put his head under the water to catch the fish. Boo
was a big dog in a little body. Size meant nothing. If he saw a German
Shepherd he would charge after him but only if mom and dad were there to
protect him.
Naively we always thought that Boo would be with us forever. Even
though we were with him 24 hours a day and constantly gave him love and
attention (to the point that we annoyed him), it wasn't enough.
Everything we did was for Boo and when he was gone it was too much to
bear. We did get another dog which helped with the pain because we
honestly believe that Boo is talking to him and telling him how to
handle us.
Please remember that your dog's life is short and precious. Give him or
her a hug every day and tell him you love him. One day I hope to be
with Boo again and that would be heaven for me.
