This
is Nella (sometimes affectionately called: Nella Bean). Nella is
such a special dog... where do I begin...
I adopted her from a local animal shelter. I already have a beautiful
mixed breed dog and wanted her to have a companion. I spent an hour
looking around and petting dogs and as I was getting ready to leave, I
saw this beautiful vanilla-(hence the name Nella) -colored dog with an
"adopted' placard on her cage. I thought she was the cutest thing but as
soon as I saw the 'adopted' placard I thought, "Too bad." The shelter
volunteer who was helping me noticed that I saw the dog and said, "She's
not adopted. The dog that was in this cage before her was adopted." So,
of course, I took her out and played with her.
I immediately fell in love with her and took her home that day for
'fostering.' I really knew I was going to keep her but I wanted to make
sure she would get along with my other dog. She and my other dog got
along like they were in the same litter and they just love each
other. Nella has fur that is as soft as velvet and she is so adorable.
Nella has been a wonderful addition to our family and as you can see in
this picture, she is always smiling like that with her ears up and ready
for anything.
