We
got Ivy from Animal Aid this last summer, after our family dog died.
I first saw her at Petsmart and we immediately hit it off. We signed her
up for puppy kindergarten that July. I guess you could say that Ivy was
"at the top of her class." She is very intelligent and will sit, stay,
lie down, roll over, and get her leash on command. In fact, Ivy's
favorite word is "leash." When she hears it, she runs through the house
to retrieve it, and then patiently waits at the door.
Ivy is extremely fun loving and enjoys playing tag and chasing squirrels
and birds in the back yard. She is an active puppy that enjoys being the
center of attention. If Ivy does not feel that she is receiving enough
attention, she will bark until she is noticed. Aside from her
rambunctious side, Ivy is tenderhearted. She loves to snuggle at night
and follows me with every step I take. Ivy feels it is her duty to watch
over me. Even though Ivy weighs 40 pounds, she thinks she is a lap dog.
Ivy has been such a blessing to me and to our family.
