Lola, the Dog of the Day
Name: Lola
Age: Three and a half years old
Gender: Female Breed: Border Collie mix
Home: Laurel, Maryland, USA

My wonderful Lola is a Border Collie (with some Samoyed thrown in). When Lola was a puppy - she was Miss Bad-puppy. Everything she could chew, bite or destroy she did. She has grown into the most beautiful and loving girl you could want. I call her my "best girlfriend"

I am a flamenco dance teacher, and the studio is in my house. Lola likes to come into the studio, sit by the mirror, and watch the dancers. When the stomping gets too loud, then she opts out. She always can tell when the class is over, and scratches on the door to be let back in. The student closest to the door knows to let her in. Lola also enjoys going into the girls' dance bags and taking socks, tights and other things that smell good. Since she has her own dog door, she can just run through the house, out the dog door and into the yard with her treasures. She's the flamenco mascot!

Lola still gets together with her litter-mate, Paco on occasion for playtime and visits. They adore each other, and when they're together they never leave each other's side. He's a flamenco dog too, as his people are a dancer and a guitarist. Just as when they were puppies, Lola is the feisty one and the leader of the gang.
