Winnie's
full name is Shaynedoro Winner Take All. Winnie is the joy of
my life, she was the perfect puppy and just continues to get more
perfect each year of her life. Winnie and I very much enjoy working
together in Obedience and Agility but in all honesty Winnie's true
passions are swimming and eating and not necessarily in that order.
Winnie also loves to go to the park and chase squirrels and although she
has managed to catch two squirrels in all her many attempts she never
takes them in her mouth but she steps onto their tail until she has
caught her breath and then she lets go and the chase is on again.
Although we have had Bulldogs in our family for many years I thought for
my first dog it would be nice to get a dog that was active and able to
be outside, walking, swimming, playing etc. We got Winnie when our
Bulldog Holly was five years old and just had her right hip removed because
of an injury. Little did I know that in fact Holly would set the pace
and would keep up with Winnie in any activity, including swimming.
Holly passed away a year ago and I know Winnie still misses her greatly
but she has made another friend in the neighborhood named, Mandy, a
three-year-old Golden Retriever, who comes over to play and walk with us often.
Winnie is loved greatly by everyone in the family and although she can
be a snob with people she doesn't know, she always comes around quickly,
especially if there is food involved.
