This
is Zuzu, our puppy. She's eleven weeks old in this picture, and smart
as a whippet. We got her from Alternative Humane Society of Whatcom
County where she was living with a foster family. She slept through the
night (almost immediately upon arriving home) and scratches at the door
to be let out when she needs to.
We found Zuzu online at the Animal Rescue's website. We wanted a pup to
replace our sweet old girl, Maui, who passed away last April at thirteen years
old. Zuzu's picture really grabbed us because, obviously, of her smile.
Also, we wanted a female to balance out our home, which Zuzu shares with
Zeke, a six-year-old Spaniel mix.
Zuzu is an early riser, shaking her collar around at about 5:30 am.
After chewing on her toys for a while, she figures it's time to wake us
up, so she shoves her cold, wet nose into our faces. Better than an
alarm clock. We've nicknamed her 'Zudini' after the famous escape
artist, Houdini, because of her ability to remove her own halter
harness. This should be impossible without chewing it, but we routinely
find the thing laying in the hall or laundry room like there is an
invisible dog still inside it. We figure she's part malamute, part
shepherd and she loves to jump up on the couch as soon as we leave the
room, snuggling up on the pillows. It's hard to yell at her, she's just
too cute.
We love her!
