I
don't know where to begin, Grizzly is the most special creature I have
ever met, and we have a Sheltie pup, four cats and two ferrets, so there
are plenty of pets to choose from! I think the greatest thing about
Grizzly is his kind heart and loyalty. My fiance was in a car accident
in 1998 which left him paralyzed from the waist down, and when we moved
from Minnesota to Las Vegas to escape the snow, we adopted our wonderful
mutt from a local shelter. He's nine weeks old in the small picture.
Right away Grizzly was very protective of Josh, {my fiance}, and he
seemed to sense when Josh wasn't feeling well, or even if he just felt
sad, and he would follow him around the house, with his pretty red
eyebrows furled, looking nervous and sad, resting his head on Josh's
lap, and sighing restlessly. This always worked to cheer Josh up, as it
was so sweet and tender.
Grizz is the same way with me when I feel sad, too, but not to the same
degree that he seems to be with Josh. We also go for walks every night
around our block, and Grizzly loves to pull Josh up all the hills around
our house, he's just always there when you need him, and he sleeps with
his nose pressing up against my forehead at night, which is very
reassuring! He has a huge bark, but no bite, and he guards our Sheltie
when we go to the park, making sure other dogs don't get too rough with
him! Last, but not least, he is adorable, and when he was a puppy he
looked just like a fat little bear cub, hence the name, Grizzly! We
love him so much, and I could write pages on why he is so precious to
our little family!
