There
I was, making a U-turn in the parking lot of the animal shelter in
Reno, and she had just gotten away from the people taking her and her
brother inside... She was a fat bundle of fur with very serious eyes. I
picked her up, she has never left my side since.
She is protective, affectionate, and very nurturing with my
granddaughter, and with my husband who is a cancer patient. She has a
remarkable instinct for when to be playful and when to be gentle. I
cannot even remember what life was like without her. She is very vocal
and uses many different tones to express herself which can be hysterical
in some circumstances. Mostly, though, she is 70 pounds of love and devotion.
