Hannah
is a super sweet, somewhat neurotic dog. (Her strangeness may
have something to do with the fact that she was born on Feb. 29.) She
was from a friend's dog's litter, and we helped raise her from the day
she was born. She made a wonderful playmate to our other dog, Maggie,
and since has become the perfect companion to our two young
children. Hannah really showed her mettle this past Christmas Eve
morning, as she woke us up with frantic barking. It was out of the
ordinary, and upon investigating, we found that someone had broken into
our car, which was parked in our driveway, and after stealing a stereo
and a number of Christmas presents, they tried to use the garage-door
opener to get in our house! Hannah's acute hearing sent her into a
frenzy, scaring the burglars away and keeping our family safe. Having
stuff stolen was a bummer, but knowing that Hannah is there to protect
her family put us in a very thankful mood throughout the holiday
regardless. We've since been calling her Hannah Hero!
