This
is Charleston Patrick, a.k.a. Charlie. I'd been wanting a puppy badly
since starting my job at PetCo and had fallen in love with Aussies. For
an early Christmas present, my fiance brought me to a breeder to pick
out a puppy! Once we got there though I saw this shy pup running around
with the other pups, about three months old. We asked about him and she
told us that he had hearing loss and nobody wanted him, so she was going
to put an ad in the paper for him the very next week! I thought, a dog
as gorgeous as he shouldn't be put in the paper for just anyone to take,
so we took him home with us instead of picking out a newborn pup. And I
have never regretted it since! He is still very shy and anxious around
strangers or a lot of people and he will whine and run away if anyone
other than his dad and I make eye contact or try to pet him. I don't
know of his past, something very traumatic must have happened to him to
make his this way, but he is my Charlie and I would never trade him for
anything in the world. He melts my heart every time he looks at me and I
thank God for him each and every day!
