LuLu
is the light of our cubicle here in grey old Seattle.
Our workmate, Bob, got LuLu as a gift for his wife Heidi who is an
oncology nurse and deals with a lot of very sick people, grief, and
stress on a daily basis. Bob hoped LuLu would provide Heidi with some
distraction and relief from the pressures of her job...and boy, has she!
Bob and Heidi are kind enough to share their pet with a lot of other
people - Bob even brings LuLu to work sometimes to cheer up our work
team. We can't thank him enough for bringing this sweet girl into our lives.
LuLu is the funniest, most animated dog ever! She makes us laugh with
her antics- she loves to dance on her hind legs like a black and white
ballerina, play tug-of-war with pieces of rope, and rip stuffed animals
to shreds in seconds. She has the funniest growl- impossible to take
seriously because she is so cute. She also loves to sleep in your lap
when you are trying to type, or near your feet on a blanket. No one in
our office can keep up with her when she is running at top speed- it's
amazing how fast those little legs can carry her! She's not the best
walker on a leash, though- she has her own ideas of where she wants to
go and how long it should take to get there. She loves to greet other
dogs, and clearly does not realize how small she is compared to a lot of
her trail walking friends.
When LuLu arrives at our work, she likes to run around greeting all her
favorite people. But first - a tour through the kitchen to Hoover for
crumbs. Then on to her Auntie Kate's office - where there is always a
treat waiting. When she is done visiting, we put up a baby gate at the
entrance to our double cubicle. After that, her visitors come to her.
