This
is Jay Boy. His registered name is J. Edgar Hoover, and he is an
English Bulldog. In this picture taken on April 3, 2005, Jay Boy is
doing what he does best. He is just standing there watching the world go
by. He had just had a bath and rub down and if you included eating those
would be his favorite things to do.
His breathing is noisy (sometimes he sounds just like a coffee
pecolator), he snores even when he's awake, but with all of his
short-comings he is absolutely adorable. He sleeps on a baby mattress in
the utility room, which we call "Jay's Bedroom." He is usually an early
riser and he will always visit everyone along side their bed, and he
stays close by until everyone is up and going. Then he eats and goes
back to sleep. My wife and I were lucky enough to have become his
adopted guardians when he had just turned a year old.
He is getting older now, he will be nine years old in July. But he is still
a fine example of an English Bulldog. He weighs between 65 to 68 pounds. He
was our first bullyboy, and we got him when he was about one year old.
He actually decided to get us, when we went to see him he followed us
out the door and he never looked back.
He is very lovable, he loves people and he follows us all over the house
and stays as close to us as possible. He likes to wrestle and play "tug
of war" and he usually wins. He and I have snoring contests and he
usually wins that contest also, according to my wife.
He likes attention and he is very patient and he will allow us to dress
him up for all the holidays.
