We
were thinking for a while about getting a dog, but I wasn't too sure
about the idea because of our schedules, my husband had owned Siberian
huskies in the past, he wanted something different and he always loved
Border Collies. So he looked around and found a breeder not too far from
us and called to make plans to go out and see the pups. I knew that day
we were not going to come home empty-handed. So we went and there they
were, all in their cage they were so cute. Maggy's sister caught my eye
and my husband wanted Maggy. I hadn't even paid attention to her as she
was the one huddled in the corner, not wanting any attention so Maggy it
was who came home.
We brought her home and everybody loved her. She loves her ball - that
is the only toy she will play with. She wears you out, she will not stop
until you hide it then she will find another one she has stashed in her
hiding spots. I really enjoy the breed they are very intelligent dogs
and I never have to worry about her wandering away. Except when she has
spotted a chipmonk - she likes chasing them. I'm glad we picked her, she
makes us so happy each and every day. The thing I love about her is she
listens to everything you say and honestly I think she understands me.
I'll say to her "Gammy is coming," (my Mother) and she gets all excited
just because she knows she is going to get a treat and a toy.
Border Collies are such good family pets some people think that they are
strictly for work but they bring you much more than that. After owning
her I think there will always be a Border Collie running around in our
yard and our home. We are truly blessed for owning such great dogs as we do.
