Hi,
my name is Joey and my mom and dad tell me that I'm the best dog in
the world. My dad found me at the humane society where I ended up
because I was a stray. Actually, I just didn't like my former parents
because they didn't let me sleep on the bed like my mom and dad do now,
so I ran away from home - that's what I tell people anyway - sounds
better than the "poor me stray dog" tale, doesn't it?
I really like my new family and would never even dream of running away
again. In fact, one time my dad made me stay in our friend's apartment
across the hall so a plumber could fix the drain (I don't like strangers
coming to my house when mom and dad are not home). Well, dad didn't
tell me why he left me across the hall so I was confused and wanted to
get home. Since we live on the first floor, I opened the window with my
nose (luckily it wasn't locked), knocked out the screen, and ran around
to the back of the building. The maintenance man has a workshop back
there and I like to visit him a lot. I ran into his shop and tried to
tell him to follow me, but he just wouldn't get the message. I had to
nudge his leg a couple times before he would finally follow me. I led
him back around the building to the door that leads to my apartment and
he let me back into my house. It sure was great to get back! Boy was
Dad surprised to see me when he got home!
I love my mom and dad and my three sisters Isabelle (another aussie),
Molly (manx cat), and Lucy (cat with tail). Lucy is the only family
member with a tail, but we love her anyway (even when she hisses at me).
Well, I have to get back to my mid-morning nap on the bed so have a good
day! This picture is of me when dad and I went backpacking in northern
Michigan. The river in the background is a famous trout stream, the Au Sable.
