Toby
is a very large Standard Poodle, 28" at the shoulder and 95 pounds!
He is 3 1/2 years old, male and the most outgoing, laid-back dog I have
ever been owned by.
Toby gets along with everyone and every animal he meets. He has his
first Obedience title and is working on his second. He has been in "Pet
Pals" here in Cape Girardeau, MO for about 6 months and visits all the
nursing homes and hospitals in this area. The residents love him and he
loves them.
His therapy visits, well they make his day. He is a very large Standard
Poodle and everyone comments on his being the largest dog they've ever
seen. Then things like "he looks just like a stuffed toy" "how much does
he weigh?" "how much does he eat?" and "how old is he?" Toby is very
laid-back and has to visit every room and have everyone pet his top
knot. He has about 40 different hats which he loves to wear since he
knows he will be going somewhere. Since he is named after Toby Keith the
country western singer (they are both big, blonde and beautiful) several
of the hats are cowboy hats. Spoiled you say? Of course he is! Who
wouldn't spoil this big fluffy boy?
As for as special training, he has a Canine Good Citizen certificate and
has been neutered. Also has his CD (Companion Dog) from the AKC. He is
still taking classes for his next competitions in Obedience because he
loves the classes. His goal in life seems to be to meet every person
and every animal that he can possible find.
