This
is Diesel... one of our two Basset Hounds. He lives with his
brother Payton, our other Basset Hound, and his 1/2 sister Sophie (a
Rottweiler). Diesel is like the baby of the household... he's less
aggressive than Payton and he always has to be on Mommy's lap. If I
leave the room he's right behind me to see where I'm going and what I'm
doing.
Diesel's favorite things to do are eating snacks from his cookie jar,
playing with Payton, teasing the cats, and stealing drinks from my glass
as it sits on the coffee table. I always know when he's "sharing" my
drink because he makes a really loud slurping noise when as
he's drinking. It's funny because when he knows that he's busted, he just
turns around and imposes that sad little face on you. You can't help but
to forgive him.
Another thing that we share is our birthdays... Diesel was born on my
birthday (Aug. 18th) in 2004. It was a very big surprise and we picked
him out the day he was born. Diesel and Payton's father (Tank) lives
with my sister so he gets to see him a lot. Whenever she comes over she
brings Tank with her so they can all visit and play. Diesel and Payton's
sister (Casey) lives with one of my friends so she comes over a lot,
too. It's really funny when everyone comes over at once, which is at
least once a week, because we have four Basset Hounds running wildly
through the house and they all love to play. It's nice though, because
they get to see a lot of their biological family and they remained very
close. Both Diesel and Payton get very excited when I tell them that
Tank or Casey is coming over.
Unlike Payton, Diesel loves to get dressed up. He parades around the
house with his sweater or costume on, holding his head up very high and
usual with a bark or two. He has an orange and blue varsity football
jacket that he loves to wear. He knows that when I get that out, we're
going for a W-A-L-K... we have to spell it or he'll get excited and go
bonanza! He parades through town knowing that when he has that coat on
everyone we see makes a fuss over him! He loves the attention! He's such a ham!
