Without
any intention of adopting another dog, I received a random call
of desperation from the local animal shelter. They claimed to have the
perfect dog whom, for some reason, no one was adopting. This was a kill
shelter, therefore we were warned she only had one day left to live. We
fell in love immediately, and brought home our beautiful border collie,
Scout. When we received her she was very malnourished and timid. It
has now been six months, Scout is just over a year old, and has been a
huge blessing to our lives. We noticed soon that Scout is a quick
learner, (especially when there is a treat involved). Scout's favorite
hobbies are to "herd" the cats around our yard - no big surprise,
considering her breed - and fetch. Her best friend is our other dog,
Rudy. She follows him like a shadow, and loves to mimic his actions.
She is truly the most cuddly dog we've had. Although she has her
mischievous moments, she is a high-spirited and lovable addition to our home.
