One
day as I arrived at work, Keeper was sleeping under the warm sun in
the middle of our parking lot. I opened the gate and she awoke and I got
out of my car (leaving my door open) to get her to move or try to pick
her up to put her in my car so as to not run her over. Suddenly, she got
up and ran away. I figured, "Oh well, she's gone now." I got back into
my car and as I was reaching over to put my car in driving mode, I see
her sitting quietly in the leg area of the passenger seat just staring
at me. I was startled and figured "okay, well, at least she's safe
here." After parking I called her and she followed me out of the car.
I went into the office with her dirty and smelly self following and
showed everyone. We realized she was probably a stray dog due to the bad
state in which she was in. She was so dirty, smelly, hungry, and had
worms in her tummy (as we later found out). We started debating as to
who should keep her. We were like, "Keep her," "No, you keep her," "I
can't keep her. You keep her." So, we called her "Keeper" in the
meantime. My boss suggested we take her to the vet for vaccines until we
found out what we would do with her. I agreed to take her home with me
that evening to bathe her. The next day I brought her to work and my
co-worker and I took her to the vet. That same evening I took her home
again and brought her to work the next day once again. Suddenly she grew
on me and my parents at home and my boss and co-workers at work. She was
just full of love to give to us all.
Keeper is so smart, charismatic, and loves and enjoys the attention we
all give her. Now she's our company dog! The mail man, UPS guy, and
everyone else knows her now. She comes to work with me every day and
then goes home with me at the end of the day. We are all so happy to
have her in our lives. She is our spoiled little sunshine!
