Allison,
Ali for short, has to be the best dog ever. She is two years
old, and is a very hyper Australian Cattle mix. You can really see the
Australian cattle dog come out in her when she is down at our lake. She
tries to herd the ducks and keep them in the lake. It is so cute. We
adopted her at the local shelter right after our other dog died. She had
been found as a puppy on a busy highway, her mom and siblings had been
hit by cars. When I saw her I looked into her two different colored
eyes, brown and blue, and I just fell in love.
A few months ago we had the scare of our life! Ali got loose one day and
was gone for three days. Since she was born by a busy highway and lived
there for a while, she was not scared of cars. We were so frightened,
and looked everywhere for her. Then one day we saw her come upon the
porch with blood on her legs, she could barely walk. We immediately took
her to the vet, and two legs were broken, plus she had some other
injuries. The vet said she had been hit my a car. I was so afraid we
would lose her, I didn't know what to do. Thankfully, the vet did, and
set her on the way to healing. It has been six months since the accident
and we are getting back to normal. I love her so much, and no matter
what happens, I always will. We are all glad Ali is home, and safe, and
hope she stays that way forever.
