I
wanted a dog that didn't require a lot of grooming and hearty enough
to walk old logging roads and trails without running off. Mai is that
and more. She has become quite a companion and friend. She is one of
three of our dogs but she is the smartest and the most insightful.
She likes to go outside when she knows there are some trails to explore
and some protecting to do. When we are out walking she always knows
where I am and I cannot change direction on her without her being right
there at my side. She loves to hit the trail in any kind of weather but
in bad weather at home I have to go outside with her to make sure she
doesn't do her business under the patio roof.
She is very social in a lot of ways. Every time she meets another dog
she has to play bow, and she loves to go to public dog parks and play
chase with the other dogs. She loves to be with the grandkids. When we
go RV-ing she is the first one in the truck.
She craves comfort and warmth when in the house. She would be the best
lap dog in the world if my recliner were big enough for her 80 pounds,
and she has tried to be a lap dog.
