These
are of our beloved Boston terriers, Gambler and Alice. They are
both almost five years old. They live with my husband and I in the Milwaukee, WI
area. Gambler is black and white in color, while Alice is the more
unusual black, brindle and white color.
Although Gambler and Alice come from two different litters, Gambler and
Alice are half brother and sister as they have the same father but
different mothers. They are our 3rd and 4th Bostons; the breed is
fantastic as they are lively, intelligent, extremely affectionate and
make great house dogs as they are small and clean, shedding very little.
Gambler and Alice's favorite hobbies (in order of preference) include
eating, sleeping, playing with any type of stuffed dog toy, chewing on
Booda velvets, and taking walks around the neighborhood in their
matching harnesses. Amazingly, although they were each purchased
separately as adults, they have become the best of friends and
playmates. The only bickering that ever occurs is when one perceives
that the other is getting too much of the available human attention!
Gambler and Alice's names actually come from their AKC registered names
which are COPA'S High Roller (Gambler for short) and COPA's Queen of
Heart (Alice for short). Prior to his retirement, Gambler was a show
dog and sired quite a few puppies! Alice was also a parent prior to her
retirement and her son, Baxter, is a champion show dog and pictured in
many dog calendars. However, they both seem content in their retirement
in Milwaukee, WI.
They are very special because of the tremendous amount of love and
affection they generate on a daily basis without fail. When not giving
out doggie kisses, they like to take a walk to the park, eat, and do
tricks like sit/stay/come/shake/"up" (leap into your arms upon signal).
As you can see from the attached photos, they are very patient about
posing for goofy photos.
Our live would not be complete without a Boston Terrier or two in the
house and these two dogs embody the love the breed is renowned for!
