This
is Edison, our six week old Great Dane. Edison, or Eddie for short,
is our third Great Dane and his coat is called Harlequin. We love this
breed so much that we brought another into our family. Our other two
Danes are Merles, which are grey and black, named Duke and Luci. We live
in the Quad Cities, a metropolis in northwest Illinois and have a
moderate sized home.
Many people think that Great Danes require a lot of room, however, Great
Danes have grown in popularity for their adaptability to being apartment
dogs. They do like to wrestle with each other, which does require some
room, but often times, we take them to our local park to get in some exercise.
Little Eddie has been mistaken for a Dalmatian and although it would set
him apart if we had his ears cropped, we feel it's an unnecessary
surgery and besides, we love the natural ears. Once he's full grown,
he'll weigh around 180 pounds, so by then, it will be obvious that he's
not anything other than what he is - a beautiful Great Dane.
