Bijou
is our gorgeous collie girl. When we adopted her from a local
rescue, we learned she was the only tri-colored collie from a litter of
sables and had been waiting quite a while for someone to come take her
home. Because I had grown up with a female tri collie, seeing Bijou at
the rescue felt like falling in love with an old friend all over again.
She's very silly and playful, and she loves to herd our three cats and
our five kids! She's basically a fascinating combination of both a
nurturing mommy and a rambunctious sibling all at the same time. Her
favorite treats are Greenies, and her favorite thing to do besides
snuggling us in the evening is to find "Bijou's stick" in the yard (a
long tree branch that has become her very best toy) and plop down in the
yard for a long chew; she doesn't much mind if there's a foot of snow
under her or if she's sitting under the hot summer sun, she simply loves
her special stick! She's such a funny, sweet pup and we have loved
watching her grow from a small bit of fluff into a proper young lady!
