Be
knew Tank was special the day we bought him and his sister for a
school auction. We showed up to buy a female lab and this adorable
black male lab followed us to the car. So, we bought both. We had to
keep the puppies for a couple of days before the auction. We all fell in
love. At the auction, my dad Larry bought him back as a surprise for the
family. We named him Tank because he was built like a military tank.
Then we had two labs, a black male and a chocolate female. They soon had
eleven puppies. Tank was a great father. Tank has never been trained, but he
is always waiting for an order to obey. He is truly one of a kind. He is
a giant, but a gentle giant.
Our family attended the 2005 Alzheimer's Walk in honor of my
grandmother. Tank was the first dog across the finish line and received
a trophy, treats and an article in the newspaper for his #1 finish. He
is never without a ball so the first thing you saw coming across the
finish line was a tennis ball. Tank is so sweet. He often sits in his
spot under the kitchen desk while Madison and Buddy play fight. He will
never leave our side.
