Jake
came to us as an adult dog that we adopted thru a rescue. I was not
looking to fall in love with a Papillion, but as most of us know, the
dogs pick us, we don't pick them! He is a total delight and soooo smart.
He has learned all the obstacles in dog agility, but my handling skills
leave much to be desired. We have conversations about everything, and he
is quite the listener.
I think the most special thing Jake has brought to our house is the
importance of enjoying every day to the fullest. Every moment of every
day is an adventure to be met with a bounce, a bark, and a doggy smile.
This photo was one of those lazy summer days when it was time to just
hang out and enjoy the sunshine. What you can not see is the next
moment, where he is hot after the evil, wicked, seed-stealing
squirrel!!! My husband and I are thankful that we were chosen to adopt
Jake and encourage anyone considering a new pet to be open to adopting
an adult dog.
