Who
is this wonderful little girl? This is Sara Linda, she was a gift
for my 11th birthday from a local shelter called Save-a-dog. She was
found in Kentucky, skinny as a stick and homeless. With much time and
effort the wonderful Save-a-dog volunteers found her owners. It turned
out that she was a little escape artist and climbed the family's chain
link fence. They were tired of chasing her and eventually just let her
loose for good. My mom knew that I wanted a puppy to keep my dog Belle
company. When I arrived home from school on the birthday I was greeted
by kisses and wet noses. Sara was named after a princess in a book The
Thirteen Clocks, because her fiery red hair reminded me of Princess Sara
Linda.
Sara is incredibly friendly and loves people!!! She was
obviously abused in her past because of the way she flinches at any
quick movement. Sara is a complete and total mutt. But I know for a fact
that she has whippet in her past because of the way she runs! Pomeranian
is clearly where she got her beautiful red coat, Spitz is in her curly
tail, Chihuahua is in the shape of her little head. And last but not
least is Jack Russell Terrier is in her personality and digging!!! All
in all my little girl is a perfect Heinz 57!
Sara is my little shadow, she treats me like a mother duck. She would
follow me to the end of the Earth if I walked there! She is also easy to
train and very obedient. Every day at 5:00 I feed her, she can't touch
her meal until I say to 'go'.
Sara is not only my best friend she is my baby, I love her to death! And
it's dogs like Sara that show you don't have to be purebred to be wonderful!
