Bern-Hearts
Dream To Me "Kleina" is our ten-year-old Bernese. She is 80
pounds of fur and love. Our happy-go-lucky girl is the heart of our
home. She's always within earshot of any snacks that might come her way. She
has been affectionately nicknamed the "cookie monster" by the techs at
our Vet Clinic, where we are told she runs the place. Her life is full
of lots of treats and walks and grooming sessions, and butt rubs (her
absolute favorite). She adores all of the attention, and enjoys rides in
the car and even going to the doctor for regular check ups.
Sadly, she was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia nineteen months
ago. We were devastated getting this news. But, we have learned that
there is hope. This is a treatable form of cancer. And she has responded
to treatment well. It has allowed her to have a very good quality of
life. You would never know she is sick.
We are grateful for ever single day with her. She has blessed our lives
with so much joy and companionship that we feel getting her the best
medical care is the least we can do for her. She enjoys her life with
us, and being the center of attention, and even gives her leg to the Vet
to have her blood drawn. An amazing girl! You can do whatever you like
as long as the cookies keep coming! There are lots of great dogs out
there, but for us Kleina is the best. Her obvious stunning beauty,
mellow personality, and friendly disposition make her a perfect
ambassador for the breed. We are proud to have such a wonderful friend
to share our lives with.
