Lady
is a very special girl because
we took her into our home from a home where she spent the past six years
being neglected, and where her first year of life she was severely abused.
After just a week in our house she opened up, and loves to run and give
kisses and lay and cuddle. Here she is, just back from being groomed,
isn't she pretty?
Lady is great with children. She gladly lays down and lets my eight-month-old
baby crawl on her and pull her hair. She spends hours every day running
and playing with my five-year-old and six-year-old, and even dashed in front
of my six-year-old autistic son when he was running to the road and a car
was coming, and I wasn't able to catch him quickly enough. Without Lady
jumping to action and stopping him, he would have been hit by the car.
For this reason, and for the great dog she is every day of the year, she
is our hero.
