Remy, the Dog of the Day
Name: Remy
Age: Five years old
Gender: Male Breed: Australian shepherd
Home: Houston, Texas, USA

This is Remy (short for Remington) who is four to five years old, we think. He is a rescued Australian shepherd that we have had a little over a year.

Remy was an outside dog that took to the streets. He was picked up by a representative / foster parent from the Humane Society who named him Tigger because he could leap up six feet right off the ground. He was in bad shape, and almost died from heart worms. We had to keep him kenneled for two months and avoid exercise for several more due to his illness. To this day he is still afraid of thunderstorms; in fact, he has the uncanny ability to predict rain even if the forecast calls for sunny days. He has the most unusual, pitiful bark: it's sort of a combination of Scooby Doo and a moose in heat.

Remy is very affectionate and loves to have his belly scratched. He loves to cuddle up, eat popcorn and watch old movies and the Animal Planet channel. We're not sure if he enjoys long walks on the beach, but we intend to find out! Tigger was a good name, but he is much more than that. You see, Remington Steele was a T.V. show in the 80s about a private detective (Pierce Brosnan) who had "piercing" blue eyes and a mysterious past: Need we explain more? Remy lives in Houston, Tx with his owners, two cats, and a cocker spaniel.
