About Us
Scout, the Dog of the Day
Name: Scout
Age: Four months old
Gender: Male Breed: Pembroke Welsh Corgi
Home: California, USA

This is our little Scout, who we've had for almost two months. Scout loves to lie on his back for some reason, which I have read is a trait of Corgis. We think he's an adorable little guy that looks like a Hummer when he walks and like a rabbit when he runs.

Scout keeps us hopping whenever he is awake with his crazy antics. One of his favorite things to do is to steal dirty socks, or any other forbidden items that he finds, and to run around the house crazily with them. He also loves to crawl into the recycle tub to remove any paper items which he will then shred into tiny pieces. He is also quite smart and already knows how to sit, come, and shake hands.

Scout lives with four humans and a ten-year-old chocolate Labrador named Brandy. Brandy was quite grumpy with him when he first arrived at our house, but they get along quite well now, at least most of the time. She holds her head down to his level so that he can lick the insides of her ears out, and they play together quite frequently now. It's very entertaining to watch them interact.

Scout has become a beloved member of our family in a very short amount of time, and we are looking forward to spending many special years with him in our lives!

He does still lie on his back a lot of the time, and he especially loves to sleep in that position. He also loves belly-rubs more than just about anything in the world. He's such a sweet little guy and he adds so much joy to our household. We are very attached to him, and feel so blessed to have him in our lives.

This is a more recent photo of him. It's of his first trip to Fallen Leaf Lake. When we took him we weren't sure if he would be a swimmer or not, but he took to swimming right away. We think it's because he watched Brandy do her thing, so he figured he could do it, too. It was so much fun to watch.
